Intermountain Earth Week Events Info Page

April 16-20: Tri-County Community Network will facilitate an "earth week" curriculum for children enrolled in its preschool and after-school care programs. Burney Disposal, Inc. will facilitate recycling and reuse activities for all ages throughout the day on Friday, April 20. 

April 20: The Burney Beautification Committee in conjunction with PG&E and Packway will be spreading wood chips on landscaped areas throughout Burney beginning with Christmas Tree Ln. Please bring gloves, buckets for spreading chips, large shovels and rakes along with water to keep yourself hydrated. Meet at the flag pole at 9 a.m. This is a great event for younger children and all ages are welcome with adult supervision. 

April 21: Word of Life Church is organizing a roadway cleanup along HWY 299 from the "Welcome to Burney" sign. They will meet at the Word of Life parking lot at 9 a.m. and depart from there. Please bring bags and gloves. Because of the proximity to the highway in areas without sidewalks or adequate shoulders, children under 12 years old are not recommended for this event. Children 12 and up are welcome with adult supervision. 

April 21: Burney Girls on the Run is organizing a roadway cleanup along HWY 299. They will met at the Community Center parking lot at 8 a.m. and depart from there. Please bring bags and gloves. Because of the proximity of the highway, children under 7 years old are not recommended. Children 7 and up are welcome with adult supervision. 

April 22: Burney 4H and the Burney Interact Club are organizing a cleanup of parks in Burney. Meet at the Burney High School parking lot at 8 a.m. and bring bags and gloves (some bags will be provided). All ages are welcome with adult supervision. 

April 22: Symbiotic Restoration Group is organizing a cleanup of popular recreation areas near Burney. Meet at the Safeway parking lot at 10 a.m. and bring bags and gloves (some bags will be provided). All ages are welcome with adult supervision. 

April 22: Burney Disposal, Inc. will donate a 30 yd dropbox container for refuse collected during Earth Week events. The dumpster will be available at the Community Center parking lot from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until it is full. First come, first served. Individuals will be allowed two large trash bags per person while service groups will be allowed to bring unlimited trash. The bin will be removed once it is full.
