The Shasta County Department of Resource Management is hosting a FREE tire recycling event for residents of Shasta County from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 16 at the Burney Sheriff's Substation at 20509 Shasta Street in Burney.
Have 9 tires or fewer?
No authorization letter is needed to transport the tires and 5 of the 9 tires can be on rims.
Have 10-20 tires?
Call 530-225-5789 on or before Wed., June 13 for an authorization letter to transport up to 20 tires. Five of the 20 tires can be on rims.
Have more than 20 illegally dumped tires?
Call 1-866-61-TRASH on or before Thurs., Jue 7. You must file a report with the County's Illegal Dumping Program before requesting an authorization letter.
The Department of Resource Management asks that you do not bring tires if you are accepting payment for or profiting from tires, if you are a tire generating business, if the tires are from a tash/debris removal service, from auto/tire dealers, from auto repair shops, tow shops or wrecking yards or if the tires are more than 6-feet in diameter.
