Snow Affects Routes and Transfer Stations

16-Mar-2018 The Fall River transfer station will be closed tomorrow, March 17 due to snow accumulation in the area. As of right now, the Burney transfer station is scheduled to open at 8 a.m. per usual. Please remember that if the snow continues to accumulate on Black Ranch Rd. and plows are unable to clear it, we MAY close the site for safety reasons. It is our responsibility to dissuade customers from using the roadways with heavy loads of garbage and trailers if it is unsafe to do so. Closing the transfer station can help keep our community members safe if such precautions become necessary. Please visit this website or www.facebook.com/burneydisposal to check the status of our transfer sites as the weather continues to develop. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors.

Additionally, route areas in the Hatchet Mountain area, Big Bend and Day Rd. have been affected by the snow accumulation. You are welcome to bring your garbage to the Burney Transfer Station tomorrow or Wednesday if weather allows OR we will pick up twice the amount of garbage on your account next week (For example: if you have a three-can account we will pick up six cans or the equivalent next week at no additional charge).

Please remember that our drivers are instructed to prioritize their safety and the safety of others on the roadways above all else. Our two-wheel drive trucks are heavy and could be prone to slide in adverse weather conditions. Once a truck of that size begins to slide, there is little a driver can do to stop the slide and the results could be catastrophic. We hope you will agree with us that nothing is worth that kind of risk. We will gladly ensure that all of our customers are able to throw their trash away at no additional cost to them as the weather improves.

Thank you for your understanding and compassion as we work through the weather to service your accounts.
